Manufactured Topsoil

A consistent, stable planting medium ideal for turf, landscape, and large-scale horticulture.

Why Manufactured Topsoil Works

Native “topsoil” scraped from job sites is unpredictable. It varies in drainage, nutrient availability, weed load, and performance.

Parker Bark Manufactured Topsoil takes time to produce correctly, and we do not rush the process—consistency matters more than speed. We blend screened mineral soils (sand and soil) with our certified compost, to create a medium that delivers reliable planting performance, strong root development, balanced moisture retention, and superior spreadability. Each load is consistent and predictable.

Installation Guidance

These recommendations are based on performance across commercial installs and site work.

Expect moderate settling in turf establishment and trench backfill applications.

Landscape Beds & Ornamentals

• 3–6″ installed depth depending on root mass
• Lightly blend upper layer with native soil at grade

Turf Establishment (Seed or Sod)

• Set final grade then seed/sod directly into the surface layer
• Maintain consistent moisture during establishment

Tree Rings & Large Plantings

• Blend manufactured topsoil with native soil (approx. 60/40)
• Do not compact—allow oxygen movement around roots

Site Remediation & Soil Replacement

Use as a replacement layer when existing soils are contaminated, compacted, or construction-grade.
